How might we integrate AI into attorneys' document review workflow to improve readability, accessibility, and overall efficiency?

Overview

Bridgify AI launched a simple chatbot in 2023, but attorneys needed deeper workflow integration. Over three design rounds, we evolved from basic AI text generation to a fully accessible document review experience — including homepage, usage monitoring, and onboarding flows.

CONTEXT

Technology Innovation

GPT-4.0 and GPTs enabled personalized AI tools across industries. Bridgify AI quickly launched a simple chatbot in 2023, streamlining legal knowledge searches for users — but attorneys needed much more than a knowledge search tool.

PROBLEM

Limited Use Cases

Document Review

Attorneys spend hours reviewing vast amounts of medical records to locate specific diagnosis information, which is often overwhelming. AI-powered summarization and extraction could transform this workflow.

1ST ROUND DESIGN

Integrating AI to Generate Concise Document Summaries

The first design round focused on embedding AI into the document review flow — enabling attorneys to upload records and instantly receive AI-generated summaries, reducing hours of manual review to seconds.

2ND ROUND DESIGN

Accessibility and Readability

The second round addressed a critical flaw: AI-generated walls of text were hard to read and act on. We redesigned output formatting with structured diagnosis extraction, clear hierarchy, and scannable layouts.

3RD ROUND DESIGN

End-to-End User Experience

The final round delivered a complete product experience: a redesigned homepage, usage monitoring dashboard, and onboarding flow — giving attorneys full visibility and control over their AI-assisted document reviews.
