OVERVIEW
How might we implement virtual-working models, that foster a more connected remote work environment to improve employee well-being & boost team productivity?
Problem
Employees facing mental health & social challenges in virtual environment. Focusing on people who experience feelings of isolation, loneliness, social disconnect & the one's who struggle to form connections with peers. This would also include employees who struggle to stay motivated or unplug after work hours.
Solution
We create O-Mate, which sits curiously on your work-desk, to understand your working habits and help you set your daily schedule, set reminders, schedule meetings & share your schedule with your teammates.

SURVEY
To start with our primary research, we conducted a survey
To start our primary research, we conducted a survey. This survey was designed to get both quantitative and qualitative data. Our survey recorded responses from 67 participants across various nationalities, demographic, & backgrounds. Our survey also acted as our screener to further recruit participants for interviews.
INTERVIEW
After survey, we conducted interviews to understand the reason behind data
Our interviews recorded response from 10 participants from our the people who are screened from our survey.
We got over 600 data points from the interviews
CULTURAL PROBE
We conducted cultural probe research to identify the pain points and challenges of people working remotely
We designed an interactive activity for 12 participants to rate their current experience and plot their challenges on a matrix using stickies. We also included visual stimuli for them to soak in their visual senses to reflect on their experience more immersive.

Consolidating our key insights into 2 goal-oriented personas
IDEA SKETCHING
After clustering our yellow data points into blues, we started sketching insights at this stage
We identified broad patterns in our insights and marked our clusters with the same.

CONCEPT DEFINE
After forming clusters, we started voting the clusters and insights as a team in terms of unique value. Based on our voting, and re-grouping some insights, we formed 3 concepts. After forming our concepts, we conducted an ideation session to build on our concepts and brainstorming features on our three concepts.
Combining Concept A & C
After our internal evaluation and user testing, we made design iterations as per the feedback. Further, we decided to combine concept A and C as not only did it resonate the most with our users but it also matched in terms of design features and values. We combined concept A and C to develop a tangible product, which could help remote working employees to add structure to their day, manage their schedules as well as initiate casual conversations similar to an office environment.

· Made the base sleeker
· Increased the thickness of device
· Made the screen size wider
· Moved the back light feature to ring light on the base
· The shape of the ring was changed to become more “Ovular” to ease readability.
