Civic infrastructure reporting · Mobile & Web
"How might we streamline and enhance the infrastructure reporting and resolution process to ensure efficient handling of city maintenance issues?"
Overview
City infrastructure — potholes, broken streetlights, damaged sidewalks — deteriorates when residents have no easy way to flag issues, and when government workers have no centralized tool to track and respond. Citifix bridges that gap: a comprehensive mobile and web application for reporting and resolving city infrastructure issues, connecting residents directly with local government.
Highlights
Solution 1
Residents can report a city issue in seconds — tap, snap, submit. The flow is designed to be fast enough that people actually use it, with location auto-filled and issue categories pre-built so users never have to type what they don't need to.
Solution 2
Issues aren't invisible once reported. Residents can see what others have flagged nearby, upvote problems that affect them, and follow the resolution status of any report. Upvotes surface the most impactful issues and help government workers prioritize what gets fixed first.
Solution 3
On the government side, workers get a clean dashboard of all active reports, sorted by priority and proximity. Assignments are clear, statuses update in real time, and the full history of any issue is always accessible — so nothing falls through the cracks.
Process
Before moving into high-fidelity screens, I mapped out the full user journey with low-fi wireframes — sketching out the core reporting flow, the community feed, and the government task view. Getting the structure right early meant fewer pivots in the final design.
